Adding to the increasing number of car manufacturers halting deliveries, Audi apparently informed its dealers that they will stop importing new vehicles into the U.S. This decision follows President Trump’s imposition of a 25% tariff on foreign automobiles. The tariff became effective on April 3rd. .
Zeit Online , the online division of Germany’s Die Ziet The company has apparently informed its dealers that they intend to work through the existing stock of vehicles currently displayed in US showrooms. This inventory comprises approximately 37,000 cars from their range, as reported.
It's difficult to predict which direction Audi will choose or whether these 25% tariffs will persist for months. Nonetheless, at present, it appears that the Audi team is counting on their existing stock to see them through this period of tariffs.
Audi is not the sole car manufacturer to halt deliveries into the United States. Jaguar Land Rover is also halting deliveries, and it’s possible that other car manufacturers might follow this lead.
