LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - This weekend, join us for a community festival brimming with natural beauty, artistic expression, and ecological consciousness — featuring a twilight-led trek, live musical performances, poetic readings, educational discussions about the environment, and much more — everything celebrating Earth Day.

As part of the 55th Earth Day celebration at the Rio Grande International Study Center, planners have organized a two-day event.

The celebrations start off on Friday with an entertaining icebreaker event, leading into a full day of family-oriented activities scheduled for Saturday from early morning until late evening.

The details were unveiled during a press conference on Wednesday morning, and the organizers claim it’s something you definitely won’t want to miss.

"The main event will take place on the twelfth, which is a Saturday, April 12. We'll kick things off with a press conference at Las Palmas Trail Nature Park starting at nine o'clock and ending at ten. During this time, we'll serve Earth Day conchitas along with coffee and water. It’s important for everyone to come out and offer their support between these hours," stated Advocacy Campaign Manager Edgar Villasenor.
