The Abbotsford Police Department in British Columbia is looking into an online threat of violence targeting multiple schools on Monday.
Posts suggesting a potential assault at secondary schools and the University of the Fraser Valley were shared across social media platforms throughout the night.
The police mentioned that they are looking into where the messages came from.
They also mentioned that they dealt with several swatting incidents over the weekend, where individuals made false claims to 911 about violent events occurring.
The Abbotsford Police stated that they have found no evidence indicating the credibility of the threat and consider this event to likely be yet another case of swatting.
