- An official from Genesis has indicated that the brand is not keen on producing entry-level vehicles.
- The emphasis seems to be on the bigger and pricier versions of the G80 and G90 models.
- This makes the future of the G70 unclear, but having three sedans might be excessive.
Although numerous car manufacturers have abandoned sedans or reduced their selections, Genesis provides three models ranging from the $42,500 G70 to the $89,700 G90. This means there is an option available for almost every kind of luxury vehicle purchaser.
Nevertheless, this situation may change soon since the firm is allegedly mulling over shifting towards premium markets with an emphasis on bigger and pricier cars. Such a shift has the potential to lead to the G70 being phased out.
Review: 2024 Genesis G70 Turbo V6 Has Surpassed Expectations
Speaking to Car and Driver The global product officer at Genesis stated, "It would be quite appealing to consider creating a front-wheel-drive vehicle priced at $45,000 or less." Essentially, they were hinting towards something similar to the Mercedes CLA .
Marc Choi mentioned that Genesis is currently "pushing back" since their aim is to enhance the brand’s value. He further explained, “Within our range, we intend to concentrate on significant models such as the G80, GV80, and G90 series, where we believe we can boost both product presence and brand equity."

This isn't very encouraging news for the entry-level sedan segment; however, Choi mentioned, "Our aim is to develop possibly a new-generation G70 at a slightly lower price point." Nonetheless, this might cause some product positioning issues between Hyundai and Kia.
Certainly, the G70’s main rival was once the Kia Stinger, which ceased production in 2023. Although this car is now history, the Hyundai Grandeur can be found in certain regions and offers quite a plush experience.
