Allied Cycle Works has released an updated version of its Able gravel race bike, asserting that the new model is designed for enhanced speed, performance, and adaptability.
The updated bicycle offers enough room for tires as wide as 57mm, due to lowered chainstays and broader fork legs, coupled with a new carbon frame featuring internal storage space. Based in Bentonville, Arkansas, Allied claims their revamp targets highly challenging gravel competitions.
As stated by Drew Medlock, the CEO of Allied, the Able has undergone redesign due to the rapidly changing market conditions. gravel racing a scene where bicycles and cyclists are tested to their extremes.
He explains, 'The new Able emerged from this progression, designed to excel on the toughest tracks, where velocity, toughness, and flexibility are crucial.'

Geometry update

The steering angle of the head tube is relatively relaxed at 70.5 degrees, and the distance from the center of the rear wheel measures 428 millimeters, giving a wheelbase slightly above one meter. Allied asserts that its gravel geometry provides excellent high-speed stability while still delivering agile handling for trickier terrains.
The weight of the framesets for the five available sizes ranges from an advertised 900 grams for the size 52 frame up to 1,030 grams for the size 61 frame.
The cabling is completely integrated now, featuring a two-position stem that allows you to adjust its height either up or down.

On most bicycles featuring in-frame storage, this compartment usually sits beneath the down tube near the bottle cage. However, Allied has placed theirs farther down along the same tube but below the cage mounts. They've included their own magnetically sealed door for easy access without hindering water-bottle usage or safety. Additionally, Allied asserts that this placement reduces overall bike weight thanks to a more streamlined construction.
You can buy the Able in three options that feature a single chainring setup. SRAM Red XPLR AXS For the top-tier model, it comes equipped with Industry Nine Solix SL AR40c carbon wheels, boasting a stated weight of 7.37kg / 16.25lbs.

The SRAM Force XPLR AXS and Rival XPLR AXS setups also feature Industry Nine 1/1 Ultralite Carbon wheels in their mullet configurations. Additionally, you have the option to purchase the Able frameset alone for $4,000.
Customers have the option to select all construction specifics, including color schemes and additional features during their purchase, leading to significant variations in pricing.
The Able can be purchased directly from Allied online or through their dealerships in the USA and Canada. In the UK, a limited number of dealers carry the product as well, and British customers have the option to order online, pay in US dollars, and get the bicycle delivered to them.
