DOTHAN, Ala. ( WDHN ALEA is holding their yearly 'Prom Promise' event to emphasize the importance of safe driving and avoiding alcohol-impaired driving for students in the Wiregrass area during this season's prom events.

ALE officers stage a simulated car crash at school, often involving student volunteers who may include the children of faculty members.

They allow students to wear intoxication simulators to experience how driving under the influence feels.

The ALEA troops are conducting this demonstration to educate the teenagers regarding the risks associated with drunk driving, being distracted while driving, and using substances.

The aim of the 'Prom Promise' initiative is to motivate teenagers to commit to remaining alcohol-free, ensuring their safety and making wise decisions throughout prom season.

The upcoming demonstration will take place at Russell County High School on April 23rd.
